At Aclaro, we take your data and privacy very seriously. Read about how we handle your data.

We may use personal details you give in order to provide you with a quotation, deal with your policy, or support the development of our business by including your home and motor details in customer surveys. We may make searches, via credit reference agencies, to check the accuracy of your information and to assist us with the assessment of your application and renewals. This information is also used to determine the terms on which we offer cover and to provide you with fair quotations. Searches will be recorded by the credit reference agencies. We may contact you and ask necessary questions. We will store your details on computer but will not keep them for longer than necessary. Under the terms of the Data Protection Act you are entitled to a copy of any information we hold about you. Telephone calls between you and us may be recorded.

We may share your details with other companies within the Aclaro group of companies or pass them to third parties so that we may tell you of products and services which we think may interest you by telephone, email or post. Fraud prevention, detection and claims history

In order to detect or prevent fraud we may at any time:

  • Share information about you with other organisations and public bodies, including the police
  • Check and/or file your details with fraud prevention agencies and databases

If false or inaccurate information is provided and fraud is identified, details will be passed to fraud prevention agencies. Law enforcement agencies may access and use this information.

We and other organisations may also access and use this information to prevent fraud and money laundering, for example, when:

  • Checking details on applications for credit and credit-related facilities
  • Managing credit and credit-related accounts or facilities
  • Recovering debt
  • Checking details on proposals and claims for all types of insurance
  • Checking details of job applicants and employees

We and other organisations may access and use from other countries, the information recorded by fraud prevention agencies.
